Dulquer Salmaan and Bhagyashri Borse's 'Kaantha' Releases Romantic First Single

On August 9, 2025, the makers of the much-anticipated period drama 'Kaantha' released the film's first romantic single, 'Panimalare'. The melodious number, featuring lead actors Dulquer Salmaan and Bhagyashri Borse, has been composed by Jhanu Chanthar and Sivam, with lyrics by Kutti Revathi, Sivam, and Deepika Karthik Kumar.

The release of the 'Panimalare' single has further heightened anticipation for 'Kaantha', a gripping period dramatic thriller set in 1950s Madras. The film, which is being jointly produced by Spirit Media and Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films, has also recently unveiled a captivating teaser.

The teaser reveals a clash between the film's director, Ayya (played by Samuthirakani), and Dulquer Salmaan's character over the making of what is touted as Tamil cinema's first horror film. While Ayya wants to shoot a scene featuring a spirit called Neeli, Dulquer insists on filming a more pleasant scene first. The teaser suggests that the two were once close, with Ayya being the one who trained and made Dulquer the actor he is today.

'Kaantha' promises to be a richly textured story that captures the collision of tradition and modernity in 1950s Madras. With powerful performances, stunning visuals, and a gripping narrative, the film is set to transport audiences to the soul of that era when it hits theaters on September 12, 2025.
