Disney's television properties have dominated the 2023 Emmy nominations, earning a total of 137 nods across its various platforms, including ABC, Disney+, FX, Hulu, and Nat Geo. One of the standout achievements was the breakthrough performance of Hulu's "Paradise," which landed four Emmy nominations in marquee categories, including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor, and Supporting Actor/Actress. Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich praised the show's creative excellence and the company's ability to bridge the gap between broadcast and streaming.
Erwich also highlighted the continued success of ABC's "Abbott Elementary," which remains the only broadcast series to earn a nomination in the Outstanding Comedy or Drama categories for the fourth year in a row. He expressed confidence in the show's future, stating that the network and the show's creator, Quinta Brunson, are committed to its continued growth.
Looking ahead, Erwich teased exciting new content coming to Disney's platforms, including the fifth season of "Only Murders in the Building" and the new 9-1-1 spinoff "9-1-1: Nashville." He also praised the upcoming performances of Shailene Woodley in the second season of "Paradise" and the star-studded cast of the fifth season of "Only Murders in the Building," which will feature Logan Lerman, Renée Zellweger, and Christopher Waltz.
