According to the latest box office reports, Dhadak 2, the sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak, has struggled to maintain its momentum at the box office. The movie, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, earned just ₹1.40 crore on its fourth day, indicating a significant dip in collections.
In contrast, the film Saiyaara, which hit theaters on July 18, has been enjoying a phenomenal run. More than two weeks into its release, Saiyaara raked in ₹2.50 crore on its third Monday, swiftly outpacing Dhadak 2's four-day collection of ₹12.80 crore. Saiyaara's total box office collection now stands at an impressive ₹302.25 crore.
Dhadak 2 is facing stiff competition from other releases, including Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2, the animated film Mahavatar Narsimha, and Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom. In an interview, Triptii Dimri, the lead actress of Dhadak 2, acknowledged the responsibility the filmmakers have in delivering a message-driven yet entertaining film. She expressed the hope that the movie would reach a wide audience and leave a lasting impact.
