Clarkson Mourns Tragic Loss of Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock After Cancer Battle

In August 2022, just a few weeks ago, singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson postponed the remaining performances of her Las Vegas residency and canceled an upcoming benefit concert appearance after her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock fell ill. Clarkson, who had been private about the situation, revealed that Blackstock, the father of her two children, had been battling cancer for over 3 years.

Tragically, Blackstock passed away on August 7, 2022 at the age of 48. A representative for the family confirmed the news, stating that Blackstock "bravely battled cancer for more than three years" and "passed away peacefully surrounded by family." Clarkson, who had finalized her divorce from Blackstock in 2022 after 7 years of marriage, immediately canceled her scheduled August 17 Band Together Texas benefit concert appearance to mourn his loss.
