In a major move, acclaimed actor and comedian Chris Rock has added several high-profile names to the cast of his new directorial project for A24. As of August 2025, the film has secured the talents of Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Anthony Anderson, Kelli Garner, Amy Landecker, and Rich Sommer.
The as-yet-untitled film will be led by Rosalind Eleazar, who will portray the central character, Misty Green, a gifted actress whose career has derailed until someone from her past offers her a chance at a comeback. Joining Eleazar in the ensemble are Anderson, known for his starring role on the hit series Black-ish, Garner of Lars and the Real Girl fame, Landecker from the acclaimed series Transparent, and Sommer, who has appeared in shows like Mad Men and Clipped.
Rock is directing the film from his own original screenplay and is producing alongside Peter Rice and David Worthen Brooks. The project is currently in production in Los Angeles, with Nelson George, Shaum Sengupta, and Miles Alva serving as executive producers.
