Aamir Khan Denies Interfering in 'Coolie' Release Strategy
7 Aug
Summary
- Aamir Khan not involved in 'Coolie' distribution, only making a guest appearance
- 'Coolie' trailer gains 20 million views on YouTube
- 'War 2' scheduled for same release date as 'Coolie'

According to a recent report, Aamir Khan is not involved in the distribution of Rajinikanth's much-anticipated film 'Coolie'. A spokesperson for Aamir Khan Productions clarified on Thursday that the actor would only be making a guest appearance in the film, contrary to earlier reports suggesting he had unexpectedly interfered with the 'Coolie' (Hindi) release strategy.
The spokesperson stated that neither Aamir Khan nor anyone from his team has made any calls to exhibitors or distributors regarding 'Coolie'. The cameo appearance by Khan is simply a gesture of his bond with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. The team at Aamir Khan Productions is thrilled with the success of the recent YouTube release of 'Sitaare Zameen Par' and is equally excited about the response to the 'Coolie' trailer, which has already gained 20 million views.
Earlier reports had suggested that Aamir Khan had directly contacted PVR-Inox boss Ajay Bijli to push for premium showcasing of 'Coolie'. The actor was also allegedly involved in a marketing tie-up for the film in North India, which had reportedly put PVR-Inox in a tough spot, considering the release of 'War 2' on the same day, August 14.
