Roi Roi Binale opened in 46 cities across the country, including 91 screens in the Northeast region, 85 of which were in Assam. The movie is scheduled to have over 585 daily shows in the next seven days, with a total of 92 screens and 150 daily shows nationwide.
"It is not Zubeen's film, it's people's film," said the movie's director, Rajesh Bhuyan. "His fans have braved rain to turn up as early as 4 am. This is incredible. You don't see this often in Indian cinema. This is the magic of Zubeen Garg."
The release of Roi Roi Binale marks a significant milestone for Assamese cinema, as it is the first time an Assamese film is being shown in cities such as Lucknow, Pune, Dehradun, and Jamshedpur, among others. This expansion into new markets showcases the growing popularity and reach of Assamese films.
Fans have been flocking to the theatres, with long queues seen outside cinema halls from early morning. Many were seen in tears as they exited the theatre after watching Zubeen Garg on the big screen one last time.
