Assamese singer Zubeen Garg drowned in Singapore on September 19 last year, with a coroner's court hearing on Wednesday that he was severely intoxicated. Garg, 52, removed his life jacket while on a private yacht outing near Lazarus Island, refusing a second one offered to him.
Witnesses reported Garg became motionless and was found floating face down, later being pulled onto the yacht and administered CPR. Toxicology reports revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 333mg per 100ml, significantly impairing his coordination. The court also noted his medical history of hypertension and epilepsy.
