Zootopia 2 Shatters Box Office, Becomes All-Time Animated Champ!

Zootopia 2 has officially claimed the title of the highest-grossing animated movie globally, amassing an impressive $1.46 billion at the box office. This record-breaking achievement surpasses the $1.45 billion previously held by Disney's Frozen 2 since 2019. The film's financial triumph is further highlighted by its remarkable performance in China, where it has grossed over $500 million.

Released on November 26th, Zootopia 2 has demonstrated sustained popularity, reaching the $1 billion milestone just 17 days after its debut. It stands as one of only three films in 2025 to cross this significant financial threshold, alongside China's Ne Zha 2 and Disney's live-action remake Lilo & Stitch. The sequel's domestic earnings reached $333 million, contributing to its substantial international haul of $1.13 billion.

Beyond its commercial success, Zootopia 2 has also earned critical acclaim. Critics praised its ability to recapture the magic of the original film while introducing fresh characters and settings. This positive reception, coupled with its record-shattering box office performance, cements Zootopia 2's status as a monumental success in animated filmmaking.
