Summary
- Zoey Deutch underwent a dramatic hair transformation for her role in Nouvelle Vague
- Deutch chopped her shoulder-length brunette hair into a blonde pixie cut
- The transformation took four haircuts and a major bleach job

In preparation for her role in the film Nouvelle Vague, a reimagining of the 1960 French film Breathless, 30-year-old actress Zoey Deutch underwent a dramatic hair transformation. To embody the look of American actress Jean Seberg, who starred in the original Breathless, Deutch chopped her shoulder-length brunette hair into a blonde pixie cut.
The transformation was a significant undertaking, requiring four haircuts and a major bleaching process over the course of two days. Deutch documented the process on her Instagram, sharing behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the various stages, including when she partially cut her own hair.
The final result was a chic, French New Wave-inspired look that Deutch's hair team, including stylists Bridget Brager, Tracey Cunningham, and Soumuy Nam, worked hard to achieve. Cunningham noted that they wanted to find the perfect shade of blonde to capture the essence of Jean Seberg's character, using Redken Shades EQ range to get the desired hue.
Deutch's dramatic hair transformation was all in service of her role in Nouvelle Vague, which is now in theaters. The actress has been celebrating her onscreen milestones, including the recent release of her fifth produced film, The Threesome, while also enjoying her newfound status as a newly-engaged woman, having announced her engagement to Jimmy Tatro in September.
