Naoya Hida x Zenith: A Coveted Collaboration
6 Jul
Summary
- Zenith collaborates with Naoya Hida on a limited edition watch.
- Features the award-winning Zenith Calibre 135 movement.
- Only 10 units will be produced, already sold out.

The Swiss watchmaker Zenith has initiated a novel collaboration series, marking the first time its revered Calibre 135 movement has been featured in a co-signed piece. Naoya Hida, a Japanese independent watchmaker, is the inaugural partner in this venture. The resulting GFJ Naoya Hida limited edition watch features a silver dial with hand-engraved details and urushi lacquer, with elements of both brand logos thoughtfully removed for a cleaner aesthetic.
Inspired by Hida's own designs, the dial is a meticulous two-week creation by in-house engraver Keisuke Kano. The watch is fitted with three distinct straps: one made from samurai armour leather, another from Wagyu leather, and a third from Kaihara denim. These luxurious Japanese materials complement the watch's deep blue lacquered elements.
Production of this exclusive timepiece is strictly limited to just 10 units, each priced at £57,400. All 10 watches were pre-sold sight unseen to Zenith and Hida's most valued clients in March. A private delivery event was held last month in Kyoto, where clients expressed great satisfaction with the highly sought-after watch. Zenith plans further collaborations, with up to seven more expected over the next five years, each limited to 25 pieces.
