Originally an 18th-century retreat, Zeffirelli transformed the property into his home. Since becoming a luxury hotel in 2009, it has continued to attract guests with its cinematic ambiance. The villa's history includes hosting luminaries such as Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and Michael Jackson.
The recent updates incorporate Mediterranean design elements, with a palette emphasizing blues, and feature furnishings chosen by Zeffirelli himself.
