Actor Denies Film Role After Controversy Erupts

Actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub has distanced himself from the upcoming film 'Chauhaan,' weeks after its teaser sparked controversy. Ayyub confirmed that a line in the teaser was indeed his voice, but explained he had recorded it months ago without any context or visual reference. He stated he agreed to dub the line due to a personal association with producer Aanand L Rai.

Upon seeing the teaser and understanding the context, Ayyub objected strongly, terming the use of his voice a "misuse." He stated that the filmmakers subsequently removed his voice from the teaser approximately fifteen days prior to his statement. Ayyub also took the opportunity to highlight the current student protests in the country.

The film 'Chauhaan' faced controversy following its title announcement and teaser release. The Kshatriya Parishad objected to the name and the portrayal, accusing the makers of "weaponising Rajput history." They urged responsible engagement with history, stating it should not be used for divisive political debate.

The teaser featured Ajay Devgn in an action role, opening with a monologue on Kashmir's unrest. The line, "Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai," positioned Devgn's character as a potential solution. The film, directed by Neeraj Yadav, is slated for a theatrical release on October 1, 2027.
