Nearly a decade in development, Zack Snyder's action thriller 'The Last Photograph' will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13. Initially envisioned before Snyder's "Justice League," the project saw various iterations, including a potential 2011 version starring Christian Bale and Sean Penn.
The film's narrative has evolved, with its latest logline describing an ex-DEA agent seeking revenge in a perilous South American jungle. Stuart Martin, known for his role in Snyder's "Rebel Moon," stars as the agent, with fellow "Rebel Moon" actor Fra Fee playing a war photographer who assists him.
Snyder expressed his desire to create an intimate film, stating 'The Last Photograph' is a meditation on life and death. The project, written by Kurt Johnstad, was produced by Snyder, his wife Deborah Snyder, and Wesley Coller through Stone Quarry, continuing their collaboration with Gianni Nunnari.
The 51st Toronto International Film Festival, presented by Rogers, runs from September 10 to September 20.
