Zac Efron has reportedly established a new residence in the scenic Australian coastal town of Byron Bay. The actor is currently involved in the construction of his eco-friendly home, a project managed by environmental designer Joost Bakker. This move marks a significant shift from his previous life in Hollywood.

The new abode, designed by Joost Bakker, is slated to cost $2.65 million to build and will span 830 square meters. Efron's vision includes a home built with innovative, sustainable materials such as hemp blocks and recycled oyster shells, reflecting a commitment to environmental consciousness.

Byron Bay is a popular destination, also home to Australian actor Chris Hemsworth and his family. Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky relocated to the area in 2014, embracing the coastal lifestyle.

Efron first relocated to Byron Bay during the pandemic in early 2020, subsequently selling his Los Angeles property to purchase land for his new home. The construction details shared by Bakker highlight a dream project, pushing creative boundaries with cutting-edge technology and eco-conscious building solutions.
