Actress Yvette Brown is reflecting on the audacious steps she took at 19 to launch her music career. She recalled on the Teen Beat podcast how she persistently sought out Michael Bivins of New Edition following one of his concerts.
With the help of Bivins' bodyguard, Brown was able to present her singing talent to him. This bold move resulted in Bivins offering to manage her music career under his Biv 10 Records label. Although this musical endeavor didn't become her ultimate career path, the experience proved invaluable.
The journey provided Brown with significant confidence and opened doors that eventually led her to Hollywood. In a remarkable full-circle moment, she later portrayed Michael Bivins' mother in the 2017 film 'The New Edition Story,' cementing her connection to the early stages of her career.
