Summary
- Young Ducky (Adam Campbell) makes his debut on NCIS: Origins
- Ducky's visit raises suspicions among the team about his true intentions
- Ducky's presence complicates Gibbs' life, revealing his middle name

On October 24th, 2025, the NCIS: Origins prequel series is set to air an episode that serves as a special tribute to the late actor David McCallum. The episode, titled "The Edge," features the debut of the character Young Ducky, played by Adam Campbell.
Young Ducky, who has previously appeared in flashbacks on the main NCIS series, arrives at the Pendleton office as a liaison from D.C. headquarters. However, not everyone on the team trusts that this is the real reason for his visit. Franks and Wheeler, in particular, express concerns about the "intel" Ducky might be trying to collect.
Ducky's presence also complicates Gibbs' life in an unexpected way. The team now knows Gibbs' peculiar middle name after Ducky addresses him as "Jethro," giving them another reason to poke fun at the probie.
This episode marks the first time Campbell's Young Ducky will appear opposite Austin Stowell's Gibbs. On the main NCIS series, the role of Young Gibbs was previously inhabited by Mark Harmon's son, Sean Harmon.
