Summary
- Ye faces new lawsuit for allegedly using unlicensed sample on '530'.
- Swsh claims their 2018 song 'Break the Fall' was sampled without permission.
- The lawsuit seeks financial damages for lost royalties and streams.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has been sued again for allegedly using an unauthorized sample on the track "530" from his 2024 album Vultures 2. The lawsuit was filed by alternative R&B artist Swsh and U.K.-based label Future Bounce, who claim their 2018 song "Break the Fall" was sampled without a license.
The plaintiffs allege that Swsh's vocals are repeatedly looped in the first two minutes of "530." They state that this unauthorized use deprived them of rightful revenue and diminished the value of their work. Swsh asserts that demand letters were sent to Ye's representatives after the album's release, but the issue remained unresolved.
Further complicating matters, the lawsuit claims that Ye re-released "530" on his 2025 album Donda 2 without securing the necessary sampling license. The suit seeks financial damages for lost royalties and states that "530" has garnered over 50 million streams on Spotify alone. Named defendants include Ye, Ty Dolla $ign, Ye's label YZY, and distributor Label Engine.
