Ye Signs With Gamma, New Album Delayed

Ye, also known as Kanye West, has officially signed with the independent record label Gamma. This partnership comes as his album 'Bully' experiences a release date shift from January 30 to March 20.

Previously signed with Def Jam/UMG until 2022, Ye's new deal with Gamma places him alongside notable artists such as Mariah Carey and Usher. 'Bully' marks Ye's 12th studio album, with earlier versions and visual content having been released over the past year.

In a full-page advertisement in the Wall Street Journal on January 26, Ye issued an apology to the Jewish and Black communities. He cited a significant car accident in 2002, which resulted in a brain injury, as a contributing factor to his subsequent bipolar disorder diagnosis and erratic behavior.

Ye expressed deep regret for his past actions, including the use of the swastika, and emphatically stated his love for Jewish people and his non-Nazi affiliation. He acknowledged his bipolar disorder contributes to disconnected moments leading to poor judgment and has committed to accountability and treatment.

Looking to usher in a new phase of his career, Ye is scheduled to perform in Mexico City this weekend. His last solo album, 'Donda,' released in 2021, topped the Billboard 200, followed by 'Donda 2' and the 'VULTURES' projects with Ty Dolla $ign, the first of which also reached number one.
