21 Jun
Summary
- Yash's Toxic will release on August 26, 2026.
- The film marks Yash's return after KGF Chapter 2.
- A holiday release is expected to boost Toxic's opening.
The official release date for Yash's upcoming period gangster film, Toxic, has been confirmed for August 26, 2026. This announcement ends a period of anticipation and multiple delays for the film.
Yash, who gained nationwide recognition with KGF Chapter 2 in 2022, is making his return to cinemas with Toxic. The film was initially slated for a summer 2025 release, then postponed to March and June of the current year, before finally settling on its August 26th date.
The August 26 release date is strategically chosen to coincide with the holidays of Eid-e-Milad and Onam. This holiday release, combined with the strong pre-release buzz fueled by Yash's comeback, is expected to give Toxic a significant opening at the Indian box office.
Following Kantara Chapter 1's successful opening on October 2, 2025, the Kannada film industry has experienced a dry spell. Toxic is projected to score over ₹60 crore net on its opening day, becoming the first major box office success for Sandalwood in 327 days.
