The upcoming film 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' is capturing attention with a recent promotional video that spotlights its female cast. Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi are introduced in commanding roles, suggesting their importance to the story, equal to Yash's mysterious central character.
This directorial venture by Geetu Mohandas features actor Yash, who has a remarkable personal journey. Born Naveen Kumar Gowda, he adopted the childhood nickname 'Yash' for his screen name. His father, a former bus driver for the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, continued his service until 2014, long after his son achieved stardom.
Yash's path to cinema was not straightforward. He left home with only Rs 300 to pursue his acting dreams in Bengaluru, facing immense challenges without industry support. His early career included roles in theatre and work as an assistant director. He gained initial recognition through Kannada television serials before a supporting role in the 2008 film 'Moggina Manasu' paved the way for his film career.
His portrayal of Rocky Bhai in the 'KGF' films, inspired partly by Amitabh Bachchan's 1970s performances, propelled him to pan-India fame. Yash has acknowledged his surprise at 'KGF: Chapter 1's' massive success in Hindi markets. Intriguingly, the antagonist Garuda in 'KGF' was played by Yash's long-time bodyguard, Ram, whom Yash personally mentored for the role. Yash has been married to actress Radhika Pandit since 2016, with whom he has collaborated on multiple films.
