Pushpalatha, mother of Kannada actor Yash and producer of the film 'Kothalavadi,' has accused film promoter Harish Arasu of extensive fraud. She alleges Arasu, entrusted with promoting her movie, received a total of Rs 64,87,700 through various payments, including cash for print media advertising. Despite receiving these funds, Pushpalatha states no promotional activities were carried out for the film, which was slated for release on August 1, 2025.
Pushpalatha further claims that the actor himself had to spend Rs 21,75,000 from his personal funds due to Harish Arasu's failure to deliver on promotional work. She also reported that Arasu threatened her and demanded money back when confronted, escalating to alleged negative publicity and threats of defamatory social media posts.
The complaint also names actors Mahesh Guru and Swarnalatha, alleging they posted derogatory remarks online under Harish's influence. Pushpalatha and the director received threatening calls, leading to a police complaint for cheating, intimidation, defamation, and criminal conspiracy.
