Yankees Unveil Costanza Calzone Bobblehead

The New York Yankees have announced August 27th as "George Costanza Calzone Bobblehead Night," an exciting summer tradition for "Seinfeld" fans. This year's giveaway features a bobblehead of George Costanza in a Yankees letterman jacket, holding a half-eaten calzone, directly referencing the Season 7 episode "The Calzone."

The Yankees will distribute these collectible bobbleheads to the first 18,000 fans attending the game against the Houston Astros. This limited number, a standard threshold for giveaways, is intended to drive collectibility and fan engagement, as noted by Debbie Tymon, the team's senior vice president of marketing.

This marks the third consecutive "Seinfeld"-themed bobblehead giveaway, following last year's popular "sleeping under his desk" version and the inaugural 2024 "teaching how to hit" bobblehead. While Jason Alexander, the actor who played Costanza, has not yet been able to attend the events, his team has been involved in the approval process for each bobblehead design.

The team is also considering special menu items, such as calzones, for the event, as concessionaires are exploring collectible food items for special nights. The Yankees are looking at creative options for a fourth bobblehead in the series, indicating the strong and ongoing success of this unique collaboration.
