A contemporary mystery thriller, Yaga, reimagines the classic Baba Yaga myth and is set to premiere on Friday, October 23, exclusively in the U.S. on AMC+. The series will debut with two episodes, followed by a new installment each Friday, culminating in a two-episode finale on Friday, November 27. This exciting release follows its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Thursday, September 17, and a panel at New York Comic Con on Friday, October 9.
The narrative centers on Rapp, a private investigator portrayed by Noah Reid, who arrives in the small coastal town of Whittock to investigate the vanishing of Henry Park, the young heir to a prominent fishery. He encounters resistance from local detective Carson, played by Clark Backo, and a university professor named Katherine, portrayed by Carrie-Anne Moss, among a host of enigmatic suspects.
Starring a talented ensemble cast including Hudson Williams, Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, and Katharine Isabelle, Yaga is penned by Kat Sandler, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. The series explores themes of secret lives and ancient magic, promising a unique blend of modern noir and folklore.
