"X-Men '97" Renewed for Season 3, Fans Rejoice

In a move that is sure to excite fans of the X-Men franchise, Disney+ has announced that the hit series "X-Men '97" has been renewed for a third season. The series, which debuted on the streaming platform in March 2024, has been praised for its faithful continuation of the storylines from the beloved 1990s "X-Men: The Animated Series."

The first season of "X-Men '97" picked up right where the original series left off, with the X-Men still facing hatred and fear from many normal humans. The team is reeling from the apparent death of their beloved mentor, Professor Charles Xavier, and Magneto has taken control of the group. However, it's soon revealed that Xavier is actually alive and living amongst the Shi'ar alien empire.

As the X-Men work to defeat the powerful Bastion, a human-robot hybrid, they are flung through time, with Cyclops and Jean Grey ending up in the year 3960 A.D., and Rogue, Beast, Nightcrawler, Charles, and Magneto stranded in ancient Egypt in 3000 B.C. The season finale also hinted that the fan-favorite Gambit may still be alive, and that Wolverine has lost his adamantium skeleton.
