Xie Na's Concert Tour Cancelled Amidst Online Backlash

Xie Na, a prominent figure on Chinese television for two decades, recently experienced the abrupt cancellation of her debut concert tour. The initial leg, scheduled for Beijing this month, was called off after widespread online criticism of her singing talent escalated, drawing admonishment from state media. This event underscores the precarious position of celebrities in China's entertainment industry, where public sentiment, fueled by social and economic frustrations, can quickly turn.

Xie Na, known for her role on the popular variety show 'Happy Camp,' had long aspired to be a singer. She announced her first solo concerts in Chengdu earlier this year, a venture that saw tickets sell out rapidly. Initial shows in Chengdu were met with fan enthusiasm. However, subsequent confidence in her vocal abilities, expressed online, faced significant backlash, ultimately leading to the tour's downfall.
