TKO President Mark Shapiro has candidly addressed the potential cancellation of WWE Crown Jewel, the annual premium live event held in Saudi Arabia. Ongoing Middle East tensions have placed the event in jeopardy. Although WWE has stated the show will go on, it has been moved from its originally planned outdoor venue.
Shapiro revealed in a company town hall that the safety of all attendees is paramount. He further communicated that TKO faces significant investor scrutiny regarding the potential for event cancellations, noting that disruptions could negatively impact the company's financial year. Despite these concerns, TKO has so far avoided interruptions to its scheduled events.
The location for Crown Jewel has been updated to Riyadh's ANB Arena, also known as The Venue. This indoor stadium is also scheduled to host a boxing match on October 31. The WWE Crown Jewel event has announced four matches, including two for the Crown Jewel Championship.
