At BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard revealed significant updates for World of Warcraft, including a brand-new way to play called World of Warcraft: Forever. Developed by the World of Warcraft Classic team, Forever is described as the community's anticipated "Classic Plus" experience, built on core Classic principles where the world is a main character and the journey is emphasized.
The expansion will feature extensive new content, including three entirely new zones and several overhauled existing zones that will fill gaps in the original Vanilla map. Players can look forward to over 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, a new battleground, and two new raids. A notable addition is a new playable race, the Skyborne Elves, alongside new race/class combinations and an SD/HD character toggle. World of Warcraft: Forever will be playable on the BlizzCon showfloor, with a beta commencing this Thursday and an official launch scheduled for early November, approximately six weeks from the announcement.
Additionally, Blizzard announced the 'Warcraft Forever Collection,' a bundle combining Warcraft 3: Reforged and World of Warcraft: Forever. This collection offers players a comprehensive view of the franchise's evolution, from Warcraft 3's RTS origins to WoW's MMO adventures. With the introduction of Forever, World of Warcraft now presents three distinct ways to play: Retail, Classic, and Forever, solidifying its status as a leading MMO for decades to come.
