Wonderla Chennai, the company's fifth amusement park, will welcome visitors starting December 2, following its inauguration by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. This expansive 64.30-acre facility, with an investment exceeding ₹611 crore, is situated along Old Mahabalipuram Road and uniquely merges futuristic design with ancient Tamil architectural elements. The park promises a diverse range of attractions, including 43 rides across various categories.
Key attractions at Wonderla Chennai include Tanjora, India's premier Bolliger & Mabillard inverted roller coaster, and Spin Mill, notable as India's tallest spinning thrill ride at 50 meters. Visitors can also experience the Sky Rail for scenic views. The park's layout is designed as a journey through time, from heritage-inspired zones to futuristic areas, incorporating shaded spaces and sustainable design principles. Eight themed dining venues will serve regional and international cuisine.
Beyond the rides, Wonderla Chennai provides extensive guest amenities and retail experiences featuring local crafts and Tamil cinema-inspired merchandise. The project is poised to generate over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs and incorporates significant sustainability features, including rainwater harvesting and extensive green cover. All ride operations adhere to strict safety standards.
