The Witcher's Final Season Pushed to 2027
10 Aug
Summary
- The Witcher's final season is now expected in 2027.
- Netflix has not publicly commented on the season's delay.
- Season five may launch near The Witcher 3 expansion.
The fifth and final season of Netflix's The Witcher is reportedly delayed, with release now anticipated in 2027 rather than 2026. Netflix has yet to officially confirm this shift, which was observed in updated promotional materials. Filming for season five concluded in late 2025, shot back-to-back with season four.
Speculation suggests the delay could be a strategic move. With other major genre series like One Piece, Devil May Cry, and Avatar having recent seasons that underperformed, The Witcher's finale might be held back for a more impactful promotional build-up. Additionally, a potential release coinciding with the 2027 expansion for The Witcher 3 game could boost engagement for both media properties.
