- A full remaster of The Witcher 3 will be released for free to existing owners.
- The new expansion is developed in partnership with Fool's Theory.

CD Projekt Red will release a new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, named "Songs of the Past," in 2027. This expansion will coincide with a complete remaster of the original game, offered free to those who purchased it in 2015. Development of the new content is a collaborative effort with Fool's Theory, a studio formed by former CD Projekt Red employees.
The narrative of "Songs of the Past" pulls Geralt out of his retirement on a vineyard estate in Toussaint, prompted by a plea for help from his friend Dandelion. The story unfolds in Letten, a seemingly idyllic homeland that harbors dark secrets. This return to the Witcher universe aims to reconnect with the series' origins, emphasizing old folklore, Polish-inspired landscapes, and the signature difficult moral dilemmas.
Contrary to speculation, the expansion is not a prequel to the upcoming Witcher 4, focusing instead on the established Geralt. Fans can anticipate familiar elements, including the return of voice actors Doug Cockle as Geralt and John Schwab as Dandelion. Enhancements include a revamped combat system with a new chain weapon, updated skill trees, and new DNA-modifying mutagens for Geralt.
