- Drawings will be displayed in a London exhibition.

Two preliminary pencil sketches by E H Shepard, unseen until now, have been shared by his family to celebrate the centenary of A A Milne's iconic Winnie-the-Pooh book. These early drawings offer a rare insight into Shepard's creative process as he first brought the beloved character to life.
The sketches depict passages from the book that were not ultimately illustrated, including scenes of Pooh and his friends on an 'expotition' and hunting for a Woozle. These preliminary works capture Shepard's vibrant imagination and skill in rendering movement.
These significant pieces of art will be exhibited at Peter Harrington Rare Books in central London, opening on April 17. Experts describe the drawings as exceptionally rare, representing the very first moments of inspiration for the iconic characters.
