The agreement was announced on Wednesday, September 2nd, though financial terms were not disclosed.
Pickett, who passed away in 2006 at the age of 64, was known for hits such as "In the Midnight Hour" and "Mustang Sally." While he performed many songs written by others, Pickett also contributed to songwriting, co-writing around 100 songs throughout his career.
The Pickett estate executive, Max Pickett, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating it's a "labor of absolute love" to promote his brother's legacy. He believes Primary Wave understands the historical significance and timeless power of Pickett's music.
Primary Wave's David Weitzman echoed these sentiments, calling Pickett a "once in a generation talent" and a defining voice in American music. The partnership aims to preserve and expand Pickett's legacy, ensuring his work continues to reach new audiences.
