Prime Video's latest hit YA music series is set to captivate audiences with its compelling story of a group of high-school seniors in Wilmington, North Carolina who form a rock band to pursue their dreams of stardom. At the heart of the show is the real-life band The Runarounds, led by actor-musician Ellis in his screen acting debut.
Ellis plays the philosophical, pot-smoking guitarist and singer of The Runarounds, who recently completed a 19-date sold-out tour following the September 1st release of the TV series and its companion soundtrack. The Runarounds were originally created by Outer Banks co-creator Jonas Pate for a performance on the hit Netflix action-adventure YA series, and the band is now awaiting a decision on a second season renewal from Prime Video.
In addition to his role in the new series, Ellis has his own band, Ax and the Hatchetmen, who signed with Arista Records in November 2023 and released their debut full-length LP "So Much To Tell You" just two weeks ago. The Hatchetmen are currently on tour through the end of the year, further showcasing Ellis' impressive musical talents.
