The highly anticipated Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is set to open its doors in Shropshire next month. Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery will present this extraordinary collection from April 25 to June 20. The exhibition showcases powerful images selected from a global competition that garners over 60,000 entries annually from photographers worldwide.
On loan from the Natural History Museum in London, the display will highlight incredible animal behaviour and spectacular species. Throughout the exhibition's run, the museum plans to host a variety of wildlife-themed activities. These include an engaging children's trail designed to encourage exploration of the galleries by searching for hidden wild animals.
Young visitors will also be invited to enter the museum's own wildlife photography competition. The competition, established in 1965, leads to an international tour featuring the winning photographs, seen by over a million people annually. An expert international panel judged this year's anonymous entries.
