Eckersley Mill, a Grade II-listed historical cotton mill in Wigan, has been reborn as Factory Floor, an entertainment venue set to boost the local hospitality scene. Officially opening on Thursday as part of The Cotton Works complex, the venue underwent a significant £3m refurbishment.
The "social playground" offers a day-to-night experience with activities like darts, shuffleboard, beer pong, and retro arcade games. It features immersive industrial design, street food vendors, and a central bar, accommodating approximately 350 guests.
Managed by The Heaton Group, the transformation of Mill One, originally built in 1884, marks a new chapter for the site, which was once a major cotton producer in the north-west. The venture has generated 20 new jobs, expanding the group's local workforce to around 60.
Factory Floor is designed to be a lively destination, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, with DJs, dancers, and disco lighting. Future themed events, such as Gatsby evenings and Abba parties, are planned, further enhancing its appeal as a cultural and community hub.
