A pub in southern Scotland, renowned for its appearance in the 1973 cult horror film 'The Wicker Man', is heading to auction. The Ellangowan Hotel in Creetown provided the setting for the film's fictional Green Man establishment, even featuring actress Britt Ekland as a barmaid.
Having been closed for a number of years, the property's future now lies with Future Property Auctions. Plans were approved last year for its conversion into short-term let apartments. The auction is scheduled for Thursday, with a starting bid set at £165,000.
