Wicked Sequel: Stunning Visuals, Sluggish Script

Wicked: For Good delivers exceptional production values and stunning visuals, creating an immersive Wizard of Oz world. Despite the visual splendor, the film struggles with pacing, particularly in its first two acts, which feel drawn out. The new songs, a crucial element for a musical, do not match the memorable quality of the first film, often feeling like filler.

Dialogue also presents challenges, frequently appearing verbose when simpler phrasing would suffice, impacting the overall flow. While actors like Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande deliver strong performances, with Grande particularly commanding the screen, the script's weaknesses are evident. The third act, though a solid conclusion, feels somewhat rushed.

Director Jon M. Chu has crafted a visually grand spectacle, showcasing outstanding world-building. Though the musical numbers may disappoint some, the cast's dedication is commendable.
