Switzerland's 2027 Oscar submission, "Who Is Still Alive," is set for a U.S. theatrical release on November 27. Directed by Nicolas Wadimoff, this documentary focuses on nine individuals who were once residents of Gaza.
These former residents are now dispersed as refugees across the Middle East and Europe. They recount their past lives, their struggles for survival, and their hopes that may never be realized, all while uncertain about their potential return to Gaza.
The film made its debut at the Venice Film Festival's Giornate degli Autori and has since been screened at various international festivals. Watermelon Pictures plans to open the film in New York and Los Angeles, followed by a wider release in ten additional markets on December 4.
