The Whitlams: Pub Rock Revival This October

The Whitlams have announced their 'Return to Rock Island' tour, a nine-show East Coast run scheduled for October. This tour marks a deliberate shift from their recently concluded Orchestral '26 shows, with frontman Tim Freedman describing it as "wildly different" and a return to their "raucous side" in favorite pubs.

The tour commences on October 2 at Hotel Brunswick in Brunswick Heads, with subsequent dates in Coffs Harbour, two nights each at Melbourne's Corner Hotel and Sydney's Metro Theatre, and two nights at Brisbane's The Triffid. William Crighton and his band are set to open all shows.

Presale tickets for the tour will be available starting Tuesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. local time via thewhitlams.com. The band, formed in Sydney in late 1992, achieved national success with their 1997 album 'Eternal Nightcap', which was certified triple platinum and included the ARIA Song of the Year, 'No Aphrodisiac'.
