Whitesnake's influential hard rock albums are being reissued on vinyl, offering fans a chance to own these classic records. "Slide It In," "Whitesnake" (also known as "1987"), and "Slip of the Tongue" will be available on September 18. These releases chart the band's ascent to global arena-rock stardom in the 1980s.
The album "Slide It In," released in 1984, marked a significant shift for the band toward a more radio-friendly hard rock sound. It became their first Top 40 album in the U.S. and achieved double-Platinum certification.
Their self-titled album, "Whitesnake" (1987), achieved massive success, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It spawned chart-topping hits like "Here I Go Again" and "Is This Love." This era also produced iconic music videos that defined late-'80s rock culture.
By the arrival of "Slip of the Tongue" in 1989, Whitesnake was a global powerhouse. The album reached the Top 10 in both the U.S. and the U.K. Guitar work on this album was notably performed by Steve Vai due to Adrian Vandenberg's injury.
The reissues will be available on standard black vinyl, with special limited-edition "Onyx," "Gold Black Ice," and "Crimson Moon" colored variants offered by Craft Recordings. These releases ensure that Whitesnake's signature songs continue to resonate with fans.
