Seaside Festival Deemed Unsafe: A "Final Destination" Nightmare

A music festival held in Weston-super-Mare over the weekend has drawn severe criticism from attendees who described the event as unsafe and chaotic, likening it to a scene from the "Final Destination" movie franchise. Reports from numerous festival-goers indicated they were refused entry, assaulted by security personnel, or held captive within the event grounds.

Concerns about safety were particularly heightened within a VIP tent, where attendees claimed to be holding down metal poles to stabilize the structure during strong winds. This tent was later declared unsafe by security, leading to hundreds being moved to an outdoor area where facilities were shut down, and attendees were reportedly prevented from leaving. Organizers defended their actions, stating that all decisions were made with public safety as the utmost priority in response to severe weather conditions.

Further dissatisfaction stemmed from disputed lineup changes and alleged misinformation. While artists like Craig David and Blue performed, others, including Sophie Ellis-Bextor and The Feeling, did not. The festival organizers claimed The Feeling had been booked but withdrew days prior, with the website regrettably not being updated. Conversely, the band stated they were never scheduled to attend, adding to the confusion and disappointment among the approximately 35,000 attendees who experienced a weekend marked by significant controversy.
