Wendy Williams' Plea: "I Want Out!"

Wendy Williams was recently photographed in New York City on Wednesday, August 19, marking her first public appearance since February. She was seen shopping, accompanied by a male companion. When asked about her situation, Williams conveyed a strong desire for release, exclaiming, "I want out!"

Williams has been under a court-ordered conservatorship in New York since May 2022. Despite her denials of cognitive impairment and opposition to the guardianship, a legal guardian was appointed to manage her affairs. Her team announced in 2024 that she was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia in 2023.

Last year, Williams' attempt to end her conservatorship in February 2025 was denied. In March 2025, she stated she felt "better than good" and "deserve[d] freedom." Her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, filed a $250 million lawsuit in June 2025, alleging she was being abused and neglected under guardianship. However, Williams' lawyers deemed Hunter's lawsuit detrimental, and it was dismissed in October 2025.
