Wendy Williams' Guardianship in Limbo as Neurologist Disputes Dementia Diagnosis
12 Nov
Summary
- Neurologist finds Wendy Williams does not have frontotemporal dementia
- Williams claims she was misdiagnosed, passed mental competency tests
- Her legal team plans to file court documents to terminate guardianship

According to a recent report, a top neurologist has found that Wendy Williams does not have the frontotemporal dementia that was previously cited as one of the reasons for her ongoing guardianship. The former Wendy Williams Show host has been under a guardianship since 2022 after her bank declared she was at risk of financial exploitation.
In November 2025, TMZ reported that Williams had undergone a "battery of tests" in New York City, which led the unnamed neurologist to conclude that she does not have the brain disorder. This contradicts previous statements from Williams' representatives, who had announced last year that she had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023.
