Seismic Releasing has acquired the rights to "Undercard," a new boxing drama featuring Wanda Sykes in her first dramatic role. The film is set for a theatrical release on February 27, 2026. Sykes stars as Cheryl "No Mercy" Stewart, a former boxing champion navigating recovery from alcoholism.
The narrative focuses on Cheryl's attempts to reconnect with her estranged 21-year-old son, Keith, played by Bentley Green. The father-son duo forms an unlikely partnership as they aim to revitalize Keith's burgeoning boxing career.
Director Tamika Miller described the film as a "labor of love," emphasizing its exploration of resilience, courage, and the internal and external battles faced by its characters. The cast also includes Bentley Green, Xavier Mills, William Stanford Davis, Roselyn Sánchez, Berto Colón, and Estella Kahiha.
