Cate McHugh, a singer from Wales, has officially won The Voice UK 2026. Competing on Team Tom Jones, McHugh delivered memorable performances, including The Beatles' 'Blackbird' and a duet with Sir Tom Jones of John Denver's 'Take Me Home, Country Roads.' Her victory earned her a GBP 50,000 cash prize, a recording contract with Universal Music Group, and a trip to Universal Orlando Resort.
McHugh's journey began busking in Cardiff at 16 and included five years as a cruise ship singer. At 31, she achieved her lifelong dream on 'The Voice UK.' The grand final also saw performances from other finalists Monique Nicholson-Porter, Naná Aldrin-Quaye, and Frank Raven.
This season also signifies the final appearance of Sir Tom Jones as a coach. Jones, an original coach since the show's 2012 premiere, announced his departure, stating it was ITV's decision due to financial difficulties with insurance, despite his desire to continue. He expressed disappointment with the offered reduced role.
