Vishal Jethwa: Actor, Not Just a 'TV Actor'

Vishal Jethwa, who gained prominence through 'Mardaani 2' and 'Homebound,' has transitioned to significant roles in Hindi cinema. He recently lent his voice to the ongoing conversation about the perceptions of television actors within the film fraternity, echoing sentiments previously shared by Rupali Ganguly.

Speaking at FICCI FRAMES 2026, Jethwa articulated that actors are frequently pigeonholed based on their initial medium. He finds the practice of labeling individuals as 'TV actors' to be irksome, noting how this categorization impacts their reception in other entertainment spheres. Jethwa stresses the importance of viewing every individual as an actor, free from labels like 'TV actor,' 'theatre actor,' or 'model.'

He passionately called for a shift towards providing equal opportunities for all artists, regardless of their specific role or the platform they work on. This move, he believes, would foster a more inclusive and equitable environment within the industry. Meanwhile, Jethwa is gearing up for his next project, 'Shakti Shalini,' where he will co-star with Aneet Padda.
