Vir Das Bags 3rd Emmy Nod for 'Fool Volume'

Indian comedian Vir Das has achieved his third International Emmy nomination for his Netflix special, 'Vir Das: Fool Volume'. This historic achievement makes him the first Indian performer to receive three nominations for the prestigious television awards. Das previously garnered an International Emmy nomination in 2021 for 'Vir Das: For India' and secured a win in 2023 for 'Vir Das: Landing,' even hosting the ceremony in 2024. He expressed his surprise and gratitude, noting the surreal nature of being nominated for a show born from a period of vocal silence.

'Fool Volume,' released on Netflix in July 2025, was filmed across Mumbai, London, and New York. The special's creation was unconventional, stemming from Das losing his voice shortly before filming. This challenge prompted him to rewrite the show in silence, leading to themes of silence, happiness, and finding one's voice. Das views this third nomination as a testament to his comedy finding a global audience.
