David Harbour is back as a vengeful Santa Claus in the first trailer for Violent Night 2, unveiled at CinemaCon. Having been ousted from the North Pole, Santa finds himself at a mall, admitting to children that he might have "killed too many people." His new gig as a mall Santa is threatened when his elves, under orders from Jared Harris' villain, attempt to assassinate him.
As Santa defends himself within the mall, he announces reinforcements, leading to the explosive arrival of Kristen Bell as Mrs. Claus. Bell's character, far from her usual demure persona, sports a trendy red outfit and demonstrates formidable combat skills as she steps in to protect Santa.
Tommy Wirkola returns to direct the sequel, with producers Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, and screenwriters Pat Casey and Josh Miller also reprising their roles. New cast members Daniela Melchior and Joe Pantoliano are also featured.
