The upcoming "Violent Night 2" will further explore the rich mythology of its unique Santa Claus. This expansion includes exploring his tattoos and introducing his wife, Mrs. Claus.
Kristen Bell is set to portray Mrs. Claus, who wields a large broadsword named Throatcutter, complementing Santa's Viking warhammer. The film's action choreography, handled by Hollywood stunt specialists 87North, promises intense and bloody fight scenes, with clips shown at New York Comic-Con demonstrating creative use of everyday objects in combat.
Director Tommy Wirkola described the film as "badass" yet still a Christmas movie, emphasizing it is not intended for children. Bell hinted at more complex lore for Mrs. Claus, suggesting her character has an elven background and is thousands of years old, potentially predating Santa Claus himself and raising intriguing questions about her origins and relationship with the holiday.
